Marta Komosa

Festival coordinator

Marta Komosa

Marta, is Polish, however most would agree she is emotionally from Italy. She joined the BaliSpirit Festival team in June 2014 after having experienced a life-changing occurrence at the festival itself. Back in Europe, she worked as a human resources specialist and event manager. She has a Master’s degree in applied social sciences and speaks 5 languages. As Festival Coordinator she is focusing on enhancing communication, organizing and leading the team and making sure the preparations run smoothly. Marta is passionate about self-development & healing, dancing, travelling and photography. She is an ambassador for alkaline water and its amazing health benefits. She has been living in Bali since June 2013 with her Polish-speaking dog, Harry.


Kadek Indrawati

Kadek Indrawati

Kadek Indrawati, otherwise known as Dek Indra, is Administrative Assistant to Executive Producer and Festival Co-founder Meghan Pappenheim. Born and raised in Ubud, Dek Indra truly loves her hometown. After graduating from Udayana University in Denpasar, she returned here to marry and start a family. She has a boy and a girl. Dek Indra maintains a passion for Balinese dance, which she once studied as a child, and continues to enjoy watching as an adult. She is thrilled that working with the BaliSpirit Festival allows her to see some of the island’s top performers in concert. Dek Indra hopes her kids will have the same interest and have the chance in the future to study Balinese arts.


Noviana Kusumawardhani

Media Relations Manager

Noviana Kusumawardhani Bude Novi (Aunt Novi), as she is often called, spent 15 years of her career as a TV Producer, Senior Copywriter, and Creative Director for multi-national advertising agencies, including Grey Jakarta, Dentsu Young Rubicam, Leoburnett Jakarta, and BBDO Indonesia. Bude Novi is an accomplished creative writer; her short stories have been frequently published in national media sources, including the newspaper Kompas, Femina magazines, and many others. Together with Balinese friends, Novi published a poetry anthology called Keranda Emas (Golden Coffin) (2008). Her second book, Lelaki Yang Membelah Bulan (The Man who Sliced the Moon), was published in June 2011 and launched at the Ubud Writers and Readers Festival. Her short story “Rongga” (Hole) was selected as one of the best short stories in the 2010 Selected Short-Stories competition by Kompas and included in a compilation book Dodolidodolibret (2011), with other 18 Top Writers in Indonesia. Novi is a Senior Teacher and Trainer in the Indonesian Language at Cinta Bahasa, Ubud, and well-known also as a Tarot Reader.

Budiningsih

Budiningsih Budiningsih, nicknames Budi by her friends, joined BaliSpirit Festival in 2009. Budi graduated with a degree in English Letters, and has worked in various divisions during her time with the Festival, before settling into her role as translator and social mediator. Born and raised in Jogjakarta, Budi loves reading, music, movies and manga (japanese comics). She loves to go around town on her old and noisy motorbike, visit her friends, and adopt as many as she can to be her “brothers” and “sisters.” While she is based permanently in her hometown of Jogjakarta, she always makes time for Ubud and the Festival. Her favorite mantra; Live your life as if it’s your last day.

Gusti Ayu Sumartini

Ticketing agent

Gusti Ayu Sumartini

Ayu, a true Bali local, began to work for BaliSpirit Festival team since 2010. Her long time experience with the BSF team has made her very popular amongst the team. In 2002 Ayu graduated university from Sekolang Tinggi Pariwisat Bali. Her expertise lies in tourism and communications. Her previous job, which was working at Balis’s Ngurah Rai Airport as a reservation and ticket agent, made her a perfect fit the BaliSpirit Festival team. Ayu now works as our “on ground” ticketing agent, as well as arranging hotel sponsorships. Her hobbies are swimming and volcano hiking.


Ni Luh Made Parmini

Ni Luh Made Parmini

Ni Luh Made Parmini, her Nick name is Parmini, she is a Balinese woman, born and raised in Ubud, she is loving her hometown. Parmini graduated in 2011 in the second diploma business administration majoring in management. She is an administrative officer in BaliSpirit Festival since January 2014. She likes to listen to music, watch movies, and play games according to which delightful. Motivation sentence she likes is “where there is a will, there is a way”


Ratu Sarah

Ratu Sarah

Sarah Angkawijaya is a native Jakartan and a graduate of the Trisakti University of Jakarta. Sarah works for the BaliSpirit Festival team as our PR representative in Jakarta. Furthermore, Sarah is also a member of our video production team in Bali. It was not until this year, January 2014, that Sarah moved to Bali to join our team in Ubud. Outside of her work for the BaliSpirit Festival, Sarah is an environmental activist and human rights activist, fighting to advance gay rights. Moreover, as a child of the universe, Sarah strives to live by the principals of harmony among people, god and nature.


Ary Dewi

Accommodation coordinator

Ary Dewi

Ary, is originally from Bali. She is a local however completed her studies of Computer science in Jogjakarta at Akuntansi Indonesia. She has been working for the BaliSpirit festival team since 2007. She is one of the original team members and a great asset to the to the BSF crew. Her valuable qualities make her perfect as the team’s accommodation coordinator. Ary is very well connected. She also is an incredible bargainer, and knows almost everyone in the hotel industry in Ubud. Her hobbies are dancing and grooving to cool tunes, and of course she also loves to go shopping.

Karunia Fischer

She is our personal joker, our funny spirited employee and a local eating machine. Karunia is of mixed ethnicity, father from Switzerland and mother Filipina/American, however born and raised in our little town, Ubud. She is currently back from university enjoying her gap semester before having to return to complete her Bachelor’s in Holland. She is majoring in International Relations and minoring in Development Studies. Whilst Karunia is completely new to the BaliSpirit Festival team, as of September 2014, she already knew many of the staff and fit in very quickly. Karunia takes on the role of project manager for BSF’s new website, as well as some translating work. She speaks 3 ½ languages and has many hidden talents. Besides surfing, yoga and dancing, Karunia loves to scout local food vendors and play with her 4 dogs.


Aldilla Laras

Aldilla Laras

Aldilla, nicknamed Dilla, is of mixed ethnicity, who was born and raised in Bali. She moved to Surabaya after high school to begin her studies in Digital Media Design, at LaSalle College International. After earning herself a Bachelor of Arts, Aldilla returned home to Bali. She joined the BaliSpirit Festival Team in May 2014, as our very valuable Graphic Designer. She specializes in designing marketing promotions, such as banners, logos, letterhead, business cards, packaging and more. She truly has a visual eye and a talent for art.


A.A Raka Sutariyani

A.A Raka Sutariyani

Raka graduated in 2009 with a degree in Public Heath at Udayana University. Since 2009, Raka has been working on social issues related to HIV-AIDS. Raka worked as an Outreach Worker for “Most at Risk Populations” (MARP’s) as a Facilitator, and took on the role of VCT counsellor for clients wishing to undergo HIV testing. Furthermore, Raka was in charge of generating the income for the organisation as well as creating empowering programs for PLWHA. She joined in BaliSpirit Festival on Mei 2014 as our Outreach Program Coordinator AYO! Kita Bicara HIV & AIDS. Raka hobby is traveling and eating. Raka believe if everything that happens in her life is God’s blessing.


Dodok Yuda

Dodok Yuda

I Made Yuda Prawira aka Dodok Yuda graduated in 2012 with a degree in School of Public Health at Udayana University. Dodok has been working on youth sexual and reproductive health and HIV & AIDS issues from 2009 as a peer educator, youth facilitator, and Voluntary Counseling and Testing (VCT) counselor. He also is a volunteer at a youth centre called KISARA Bali. He loves music, photography, and cheap travelling of course. Dodok joined in BaliSpirit Festival since 2014 our Outreach Program Assistant “AYO! Kita Bicara HIV & AIDS”. He believe that, our youth can be an agent of change to prevent HIV & AIDS.


Made Murni

Ayo! Kita Bocara HIV/AIDS ambassador & yoga teacher

Born and raised in Gianyar, Murni is CV. Tegun/BaliSpirit’s in-house graphic designer, managing all promotional materials for all related businesses. Murni joined Balispirit’s founders, Meghan and Kadek, in the very early days, when the group was just a concept, not an actuality. She is a truly self-made woman, who graduated school ahead of her class and began work as a domestic helper in the home of an Ubud family. Tiring quickly of that position, she was hired by CV. Tegun a few years later and mentored by Meghan. Murni quickly worked her way up through all facets of the business, serving many different roles. She is also an avid yoga practitioner and certified yoga teacher.


I Nyoman Arcana

I Nyoman Arcana

Arcana, was born and raised in Tampaksiring, north of Ubud. Arcana, is our social butterfly and our happy go lucky team member. As well as his bubbly personality, Arcana is full of surprises. Arcana earned himself a bachelors in Economics and Computer science in Denpasar. He then went on to work for a handicraft manufacturer company. Not long after that, Arcana worked with rotary in Action, a global network of community volunteers who provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards and help build goodwill and peace in the world. He loves Ubud as he believes Ubud has unique working souls, compared to other places on the island. His hobbies are taking long walks, cycling and fishing.


Margaretha Fransiska

Margaretha Fransiska

From Jakarta all the way to Bali, Margaretha joined the BaliSpirit Team in August 2012. She is in charge of coordinating BaliSpirit Festival’s Dharma Fair. Furthermore, Margaretha assists with Sponsorship support and is in charge of BSF financials, as well as the logistics behind the festival. She is our numbers lady, but more importantly our class joker and kind heather colleague. She always has a smile on her face and can turn any frown upside down. Her hobbies are watching scary movies and going out with friends.
