2010 Community Outreach Initiatives

"One of the most important aspects of the BaliSpirit Festival is our intention to inspire others to give back to their communities and Mother Earth.”
Meghan Pappenheim, Festival Co-Founder

The BaliSpirit Festival supports an abundance of outreach programs, and in the past two years The Balispirit Festival has raised and donated a total of US$34,000 to different charities, although  the Festival itself is not yet in profit.

BaliSpirit and its founders are committed to giving back to the local community through fundraising events for local NGOs, artistic collaboration between Indonesian and international performers and annual educational initiatives in local villages.

2010 sees continued commitment to an additional outreach initiative working with the local government and regional not-for-profits to launch a sustainable program called: “Ayo! Kita Bicara HIV/AIDS!”.  This HIV/AIDS awareness program is targeted at Bali’s most vulnerable: un-aware Balinese women, teens, children and their extended families.

“Ayo! Kita Bicara HIV/AIDS” is a program dedicated to communication.  The first step to prevention is acknowledgment and acceptance.  BaliSpirit Festival is working in partnership with DKT Indonesia, a leading International NGO, Yayasan Bali Plus - Bali and Yayasan Kisara - Bali.

This project has been generously funded by DKT Indonesia (Condom Fiesta and Condom Sutra).
