CATUR WIDODO - Hamanah Drum N Dance

Catur was born into a musical Indonesian family & was exposed to traditional music, art & dance from a young age; His father was a well known Wayang Puppeteer Master.
Catur founded & was the lead drummer of the 1st authentic African inspired percussion group in Bali - Govinda Drum.

This success & exposure sent him to Australia for 4 years where he worked with leading drum businesses, African drummers & International musicians. 
Not only a musician but also a master drum maker, Catur uses his knowledge of traditional wood carving, crafting incredible custom made Djembe drums which have been endorsed by many master African drummers & are highly sought after worldwide.

He has an electrifying energy & charisma in his performance & a beautiful patient understanding of music, allowing students a safe space to learn & grow.

Recognized as 1 of Bali’s best drummers, Catur returned to Indonesia to start Hamanah Drum N Dance – Indonesia’s 1st African Drum N Dance Company!

Sarah's background is in Event Management & Corporate Health. During her time in Australia she educated big industry organizations on the benefits of keeping their staff happy & healthy & the positive repercussions this had for these companies.
Over the past 6 years Sarah has been exposed to African rhythm & dance & has experienced first hand the joy & feeling of community rhythm has to offer.
Residing in beautiful Bali, Sarah now teaches African dance & shares with her students the energetic, gracefulness of West African Dance, where the dancer becomes the storyteller & brings the rhythm to life.
Music Therapy for children is also Sarah’s passion which helped her create Hamanah’s children’s program “Jungle Jammin”. A high energy, engaging program which incorporates Rhythmic movement & Creative play allowing children to own their imagination & feel the music.
Using her understanding of Corporate Health & passion for music & dance, she has the ability to transform the energy & attitudes of large groups.
