Workshop Description:
1. Flowing with Rasa: Vinyasa flow Yoga with an Ayurvedic Perspective
Ayurveda, literally means the “science of life” an ancient wisdom practice that yoga is an essential part of. In this dynamic workshop we will experience how this ancient, yet contemporary practice of Ayurveda offers a compelling framework with which to infuse your yoga asana practice with juiciness, replenishment and ease.
We live in heightened times of stress and stimulation, provoking our search for peace and balance. Learning how to meld Ayurvedic principles with our Yoga practice and teaching will allow our Yoga practice to become an even more therapeutic, beneficial and powerful tool: so we can find balance; and experience sattva or stillness and peace. With an understanding of Ayurveda, we also begin to challenge our existing tendencies and habit patterns that we bring unconsciously into our existing yoga practice.
We will begin with an interactive session where we will explore and discuss some key principles from Ayurveda and follow it with a universal, rejuvenating vinyasa flow practice that connects us to the cosmic nature of Ayurveda allowing us to link these principles to our yoga practice and to our everyday life.
2. Prakriti 101: Discovering nature within ourselves.
Ayurveda + Yoga
Earth, Fire, Water and Air. According to Ayurveda, the ancient widom practice from India, the primary elements in Mother Nature exist deep within us, providing us with our own unique Blueprint or Prakriti.
In this interactive workshop, we will first discover our individual Prakriti through the understanding of the doshas (or mind-body types) and examine how these elements and energies impact both the collective social fabric and our individual health, wellbeing and yoga practice.
We will then flow into a universal, tri-doshic, yoga practice that will balance, energize and rejuvenate us, allowing us to utilize Yoga as a powerful tool to effectively balance our life.
