require steady effort and the ability to surrender to something. In Anusara we call
this ‘Open to Grace’, the first principle to Anusara yoga. Modifications and
variations will be taught where appropriate. This practice will strengthen the

you. It's your center and it's also your heart. Discover new
ways to connect to core muscles and awaken your

Thursday, March 24, 10:15-12:15, Breath, Beauty &
Bandha, Bale Up Breath, Beauty and Bandha Breath: the essence and definition of life. The better and
more efficiently we breathe, the more alive we are. Through an exploration of
various kinds of yogic breathing (pranayama and more), focusing specifically on
ujjayi (triumphant) breathing and vinyasa, we discover the power of breathing
in moving us through the most challenging asana and its greater applications in
life. Beauty: The multi million dollar industry beauty of
products, promising to increase people’s attractiveness, misguided and
ineffective as it is, points to the human desire to be more beautiful. The good
news for yogis is that the same practices that we use to generate energy and
vitality also create beauty, both from the aesthetic perspective and from the
deeper view of beauty as living a life that meaning, joy and fulfillment.
Breath and bandha are the two most powerful methods for creating natural beauty
that attracts people and opportunity into our lives. Bandha: Defined as everything from physical manipulations to
placing one’s attention on God, we will clarify and refine what bandha means
and how it’s useful to the yogi. Through the use of bandha, the yogi is able to
move energy in specific ways. Not only does bandha protect and empower us
through asana, it guides the direction of our life, our vitality and health and
is the key to creating longevity and beauty.

the chest through standing poses, using gravity to move the energy between the
chest and the base of the spine while lengthening the arms and spine to prepare
for backbend. In practice, Iyengar yoga focuses particularly on three aspects:
technique, sequence and timing. Correct body alignment allows the body to
develop harmoniously in an Anatomically aligned manner so that the student suffers no
injury or pain. When practising correctly, Iyengar yoga helps to spread
awareness to the smallest part of the body simultaneously so the mind becomes
alert, attentive and sharp, harmonizing with the breath and enabling energy
(prana) to move and flow without obstruction. Sometimes props are used to work
within a range of motion that is safe & effective. Iyengar sequences can
have a powerful cumulative effect which is achieved by practicing asana in a
particular order and combined with the concept of timing, postures are held for
considerable lengths of time to allow the effects of the poses to work deeply
within the body as meditation in action! Pratima Wednesday, March 23, 10:15-12:15, Deeksha, Dharma Fair Stage

worship and embodiment of various deities. Yantras are potent tools for transformation and
liberation connecting us with who we naturally are: an energetic web of beauty and light. When
we recognize each other as powerful and unique patterns moving both out into the world
in creative joy and returning home with passion and longing we are able to transcend
boundaries of culture and religion.

Saturday, March 26, 10:15 – 12:15, Chakra Ma - Embrace Your
Sacred Centers, Lawn Pavilion Embrace Your Sacred Centers As we live in these extraordinary times, both our challenges
and our possibilities are beyond the ordinary. We are witnessing and creating a
new kind of consciousness, a reawakening to our potentials, intuitions and
responsibilities. Our personal consciousness creates our personal reality, just
as the collective consciousness reflects our collective reality. Our Sacred
Centers, our chakra system offers us an experience, a key to understanding, and
gracefully moving through this personal and collective reawakening
transformation taking place right now as we shift into the Aquarian Age. In this special class we will practice yoga, breathing,
chanting and meditations to first ground our energies into Mother Earth=ME,
which allows our energy to awaken and begin her upward journey. Just as plants
or trees push their roots into the earth, receiving the needed nourishment, we
also need to connect, to rest upon the earth to become renewed. We then continue our upward spiral through our channel, our
core, our bridge between heaven and earth. Our spine is our “backbone” upon
which our Sacred Centers dwell and as they become energized they begin to open,
to swirl and to bless us with special talents, gifts and abilities. As our
creative energy rises it activates our crown chakra, our 1000 petaled lotus,
expanding our consciousness, our bliss, our Oneness. The essential ingredient to running this energy from our
base to our crown, the rainbow bridge, is through the expansion of our heart
center, our home of unconditional Love and compassion. The heart allows us to
surrender, to let go to open fully to life, to experience her sweet sacredness.
Love sweet Love! Every level, every One is most welcome!
Simone’s journey has led her from the mountains of Switzerland to the free and open lifestyles of tropical Asia and the plant medicines of South America, all of which informs her work as the director of the School of Sacred Arts. Feeling most inspired by time in nature and conscious community, she brings their essence into her yoga practice and teaching, holding space for her students with a gentle poise and grace in teacher trainings, workshops and retreats around the world. With an eclectic life that has included establishing wellness centers, long periods alone in the wilderness, and acting in feature films, Troy brings a knowing humor, playfulness, and a healthy perspective on life into his work as a yoga teacher and yoga teacher trainer. Believing that following a tradition or a specific teacher should be secondary to finding one’s own true path, he encourages his students to be free, think for themselves, and to trust their intuition—the voice of Spirit within.
Wednesday, March 23, 3:15-5:15 pm, Beyond Asana: The Higher
Yoga, Bale Up Beyond Asana: The Higher Yoga While a tremendous amount of energy, growth and awareness is
experienced with a regular and comprehensive asana practice, until we learn to
use this particular tool as a means to an end, we limit ourselves. Though it is
indeed a microcosm of the universe and a complete laboratory for our work, the
physical body must be, in a sense, transcended in order to explore the higher
aspects of the yogic journey. Whether we look through the lens of Patanjali’s
‘classical’ system or the Hatha Yoga tradition, we see the same—asana is an
early stage of the process. So often in the modern world we think of ‘intermediate’ or
‘advanced’ yoga as increasingly complex and demanding postures. In truth, the
process of unfolding consciousness is such that the work becomes subtler and
more refined as we progress, yet infinitely more powerful. In the end,
love—complete realization of our oneness with the infinite—is the true work of
the authentic yogi. Join us as we explore these concepts in a practice and
discussion that involves the energetic body, the deeper koshas, pranayama and
meditation-as well as a playful and uplifting Hatha Flow!
