Presenter Bio:

Michael is a retreat leader, spa trainer, and writer.

After completing his B.A. in creative writing and then massage training in 1996, he left his native California and has lived abroad ever since, residing in Spain, India, Thailand, and Australia. His healing arts background is extensive, with an emphasis on energy healing, Chi Nei Tsang, and aquatic bodywork.
Michael is a rare individual whose presence inspires relaxation. He owes much of this to three years spent living in India, and to the one-year residential Diploma in Advanced Yogic Studies at the Bihar School of Yoga.
His background lends itself to leading workshops and retreats, and he has spent the majority of the last 10 years working for resorts and health retreats, including The Oriental Bangkok, Chivasom Thailand, The Bale, Ritz Carlton Bali, and most recently as program manager for the Golden Door Elysia in Australia.
In 2009 he collaborated with the creator of Healing Dance, Alexander George, to develop the first aquatic bodywork training designed for spas.

Workshop Descriptions:

1. Healing Dance Aquatic Bodywork with Michael Hallock

Aquatic bodywork refers to stretch, massage, and movement in warm water. This in an extremely nurturing form of bodywork which instils a feeling of safety, timelessness, and peace in the receiver. Healing Dance Aquatic Bodywork has developed from the founding modality (Watsu), to emphasize more dynamic and spacious movement. The practitioner “dances” the receiver, who has an experience of grace and beauty. The essence of Healing Dance is flow, freedom, lightness, and exhilaration. People who receive Healing Dance often describe the experience as “Amazing” and even “Blissful.”

2. Healing Dance at Bali Spirit Festival

Healing Dance sessions at Bali Spirit Festival will be experiential.  Michael will be available at specified times throughout the festival offering participants a first-hand experience of this extraordinary bodywork.

Participants will also have the opportunity to both give and receive some basic aquatic bodywork with eachother.  Michael will lead a more detailed training following the festival.

" All of Michael Hallock's workshop will be done in the pool."
