Presenter Bio:
Is an international ensemble of musicians based in the Byron Bay region of Australia. For over 4 years they have been regularly playing for a growing community of Chanters co creating a space of joy and devotion through Kirtan.
Asakti (harmonium/guitar/vocal) has worked as a recording artist/session singer for film and television, rock, pop, Latin, and avant garde performing arts. Travels periodically to India where she shares Kirtan and gains inspiration. She sings from the soul -moving from stillness and presence, through devotion to passionate heartfulness.
Kunda (guitar/vocal) has been inspired and touched by music his whole life. Living in India for 4years he met his Guru, from that profound meeting he has written compositions of truth freedom Love and silence. His songs are an invitation to meet in silence through the celebration and joy of music. He holds chanting gatherings in the area every week for the past 4 years.
Sangeeta (percussion/vocal) lived in India for 15years where she was introduced to Kirtan music by her Sat Guru in 1991. Since then she has been singing and chanting devotional music. From 2007 until now she has assisted at Jai Uttal’s Kirtan camps, events and festivals in the USA, South America and India, She has also performed with Jai Uttal and other renowned Kirtan leaders around the world. She creates a space of inspiration and joy through the power of devotional music.
Yantra (guitar/harmonium/keyboard/vocal) Yantra has been playing devotional music for over 20 years. Her versatility ranges from conducting Handel’s ‘Messiah’ to performing her original music at the Sydney Opera House and composing soundtracks for national and international audiences including the BBC, ABC and SBS. Her passion is to ignite the hearts of others in the magic of the musical moment.

An Invitation for those who aspire to lead Kirtan, for those who will like to include Chanting in their Yoga practices or those who will simply want to have a taste of the many gifts of Kirtan music and Chant as part of the Bhakti Yoga tradition.
We will facititate an oportunity for the chanting of Sacred Mantras the discovery of their meaning and power through direct experience in singing recitation and silence.
We will introduce some of the main “hindu” deities and explore the energys they manifest.
We will Lead Kirtan allowing the blend of voice and heart within a smaller more intimate group for all of us to be inspired. Together sing your love and gain confidence in your own practice and the power of sharing Kirtan.
