Presenter Bio:
Susu Ibu collaborates with artists from around the world to create multi-media projects that honor and embrace the beauty and wisdom of the natural world.
The group weaves music, dance, spoken word, and film into a multi-media ritual performance dedicated to ecological and cultural renewal. With a core comprised of filmmaker/producer Robert Weber (US/Bali), vocalist/dancer Molly Hartwell (US/Bali), and guitarist Richie Perrott (UK/Bali), the group will be presenting recent work born on Bali with collaborators including featured Indonesian vocalists Ayu Lakshmi, Juni, and Ibu Suar, Balinese artist/musician Krishnanda Adipurba, LA-based filmmaker/musician Chris Brickler, Irish filmmaker Kim Kindersley, Bolivian VJ Pachakroma, German producer Taruna, and other special guests.
At times serene, at times pulsing with a transcendent current, the music is rooted in tribal and shamanic traditions from lands as distant as West Africa, Australia, and South America, wedded with modern production and touches of electronica. Mother’s milk for the soul.
