2012 Bali Spirit Festival Pre-Fest Concert in Sanur
Silver Pesos, Nakho & Medicine for the People, Supa Kalulu, Nuzan Tara Project, Cambodian Space Project, Vieux Cissokho & Hamanah, Puch Collective. Long story short? I danced my ass off. The night started off tame with people chatting and enjoying the beautiful spread of food. The event was super well-organized and flowed so smoothly. The middle portion of the concert was grounding. Whole. Centered. Loving. Open. The last portion of the evening ended with a full-blown high-energy dance party. Nakho & Medicine for the People and Silver Pesos were by far my favorite. What talent! As Nakho of Nakho & Medicine for the People said to me yesterday, in response to me saying ” You killed it.”….. “We HEALED it.” If this is anything like what the actual festival concert series will be like, we’re in for a fun ride, kids. I am so excited, honored and proud to be a part of the 2012 Bali Spirit Festival. Welcome to the 2012 festival. This is going to be amazing. Over and out!
A little about me: I’m 28 years young, born and raised in Vancouver, BC. I’ve been djing for 10 years and worked in radio for 3. I love all music. Folk, Hiphop, World, Dubstep, Jazz. Everything. I am a writer, blogger, photographer and self-proclaimed band groupie. I like short walks on the beach followed by cold beers. I plan to blog ( and tweet ) all the best parts of the festival. The music parts. The yoga parts. The funny parts. The beautiful parts. The heart-warming parts. Follow me on Twitter to get the live updates during the festival. Looking forward to seeing and hearing all the incredible talent that has been chosen for this years festival.
Love, Kate
