Vision and Mission

OUR MISSION

The goal of the BaliSpirit Festival is to awaken and nourish each individual’s potential for positive change within, leading to positive change in our homes, in our communities, and around the world. Through the beneficial and inspirational traditions of Yoga, Dance, and Music, the BaliSpirit Festival embodies the Balinese Hindu concept of Tri Hita Karana: living in harmony with our spiritual, social, and natural environments. Committed, particularly, to nourishing our own home in Bali, the founders of the BaliSpirit Festival pledge to provide financial, logistical, and organizational support to local charities, with a special emphasis on children’s programs, multicultural education and performance, healthcare, HIV& AIDS awareness, and environmental conservation in Bali and greater Indonesia.

OUR VISION

The BaliSpirit Festival was founded as a premier international and holistic wellness and world music destination event that contributes positively to the ecological health, cultural vibrancy, and overall vitality of Bali and greater Indonesia.

THE BALISPIRIT FESTIVAL STORY

In 2008 the idea was born to create a global community gathering of cultures coming together in Bali for inspiration to make the world a better place.

At this time, Bali’s tourism industry had not yet recovered from the devastating social and economic impacts of the 2002 and 2005 bombings. The Festival attracted an international tribe of conscious travelers which brought Ubud to life. The festival has now become one of the world’s most inspiring events. It’s been 12 years of magic with more than 5000 people joining us each year. The economically and environmentally sustainable Festival has become a magnet for holistic travelers that love yoga, dance, healing, movement and music
.

World renowned teachers, presenters and performers are selected with the intention to inspire attendees by showing them the possibilities to make a difference in the world. It is such a diverse festival that lights a fire in the hearts of everyone that comes.

The YogaBarn, a hidden pocket of tranquility in the center of Ubud, has been the grounds for the Bali Spirit Festival since 2022. The open-air venue is surrounded by tropical nature and beside a small, sacred river. Though it seems small, It is a beautiful space with something new to be discovered around every corner. There are hundreds of workshops and classes that take place all day long, as well as music playing from noon until midnight, from local Balinese ceremonies to African Tribal drums, the stages equipped with enough space to dance to your hearts’ desire. Dozens of food vendors offering a selection of both local and international cuisines, catering for all dietary requirements, and a bar to supply all kinds of drinks, from day till night. The grounds also include a kids zone, an area for your kids to have fun while you adventure the festival.

THE ENTRANCE to the festival is through Puri Padi Ubud, our next door neighbor, with car and motorbike parking a 10-minute walk from the entrance at the Central Parking at Monkey Forest Ubud. There are also shuttle buses that move back and forth from parking to entrance every 15 minutes.

Many different styles of yoga and movement represented at the festival have included Hatha, Vinyasa Flow, Yin, Laughter, Power, Anusara, Ashtanga, Silat, Capoeira, Poi, Qi Gong, and hula hooping. Dance styles draw from Mandala, Javanese, Balinese, Indian, and West African traditions. Each night ends with a music line up of global performers.

Since 2010, the BaliSpirit Festival has worked alongside partner organizations in Bali, as well as international yoga teachers and musicians, to raise more than USD $200,000 for the Festival’s annual Karma (Giving Back) outreach initiatives. Funds have contributed to children’s programs, multicultural education & performances, health clinics, HIV & AIDS awareness and environmental protection. The BaliSpirit Festival currently operates two outreach programs annually: the HIV & AIDS education program Ayo! Kita Bicara HIV & AIDS and the reforestation initiative, Bali ReGreen

The BaliSpirit Festival is indeed a celebration—of the richness of culture, the sanctity of the environment, and harmony between people of all nations. Celebrate with us, and in doing so, help us to make the world a better place.
