The Bali Spirit Festival gives us the opportunity to immerse in a global collection of connection through music, dance, yoga, meditation and breathing. Like-minded people attend from all over the world offering nothing but love, peace, harmony and bliss.
Bhakti music is a way of connecting with each other and ourselves and gives us the opportunity of ‘giving and receiving love’
I was fortunate enough to interview Kevin James Carroll – Bhakti and Kirtanmusician who performs at the Bhakti evening during the Bali Spirit Festival each year. Find out why Kevin is so attached to the Bali Spirit Festival and why it is in fact one of his favourite festivals to attend.

I was lucky enough to interview Kevin James Carroll – Bhakti and Kirtan musician who performs at the Agung Rai Museum of Art (ARMA) during the Bali Spirit Festival each year.
Kevin and I talk about how he started in the music business and how his musical choices changed from playing cover music to Bhajan’s.
He explains why the simplicity and repetition of chants invokes higher states of awareness and ecstatic states of bliss unlocking love, peace, joy, freedom and forgiveness.
I was curious to find out if Kevin is seen as a Master, Teacher, Guru or Leader and whether the perception of his music can be seen as another religion.
Kevin’s Mother was a great influence to him and offered him some advice based on a personal experience he had. He carries this advice with him which keeps him on purpose of connecting people, nature, the land and to ourselves.
“IF YOU WANT TO CREATE A CHANGE IN THE WORLD DO SOMETHING SO BEAUTIFUL THAT OTHER PEOPLE WANT TO BE A PART OF IT.”
Kevin feels the Bali Spirit Festival is a sort of global melting pot of yogis and healers, teachers and like-minded people from all over the world and that over the years his music has become part of that culture.
It’s a message of love – it’s about sharing connecting and sharing the love it’s a beautiful space to be in.
