BaliSpirit Festival 2020 UPDATE

Dearest BaliSpirit Festival Global Family,

This is Meg writing, as one of the co-founders of the 13th annual BaliSpirit Festival. This past week has been an intense week for everyone globally, including for us here in Bali. Confusion abounds and emotions are running high.

Please be assured that we have heard the concerns you have shared in recent days, via email, on social media and in person.

Much gratitude to all of you who have patiently waited for us to give you some news. I sincerely apologize for the delay – it has taken time for the team and I to wade through the emotions and come to conclusions about the Festival which is due to launch in exactly two weeks.

It is therefore with a heavy, heavy, heavy, heart that I have to announce that the BaliSpirit Festival – due to take place from March 29 – April 5, 2020 – will be POSTPONED until a later date, yet to be determined.

Over the past three weeks, our incredible global manifestation Spirit Team comprised of operations, programming, volunteer, coordination and admin, along with our hard working Indonesian build team, have been tirelessly constructing our venue and systems for launch. Simultaneously, our key management team, especially co-founder I Made Gunarta, has been in constant communication with the Indonesian government and relevant departments to agree the best course of action for the Festival and its many stakeholders, given the COVID-19 Pandemic.

We have weighed every option we could to keep the Festival going this year, as we believe that the vibration of an event BaliSpirit is EXACTLY what we all need.
But it is very clear to us that with the Pandemic now a Global Emergency, all of us in the world must focus on the best interest, and the health and wellness of the broader community.

For those of us who live and work in Bali, our #1 priority is the local Balinese community, and we want to ensure that they will be OK. We are proud to say that the Indonesian government is aligned with this belief and has mandated that all planned events should be cancelled in the interest of public health due to force majeure.

I would like to personally assure you that for all people who purchased tickets to the 2020 event, in line with our no-refund policy, we will honor your purchase and extend its expiry date. This means that ALL 2020 tickets purchased before March 15, 2020 will be transferable to any other person, and / or can be allocated for use in any FUTURE BALISPIRIT FESTIVAL from 2020 – 2022, so you will have three festivals to choose from (2020, 2021, 2022).

I realize that you will all have many questions for me and for the Spirit Team, but I ask for your patience and support while we work through our next steps. In the event that you would like to reach out to me directly you can do so via [email protected]
As soon as we have further information to share, we will share it with you.

In Love, Meg and the BaliSpirit Festival Team
