About Abink & Ferry
Abink & Ferry are an East Javanese duo based in Bali, known for crafting a rich, genre-blending sound that bridges tradition and modernity. Abink, a multi-instrumentalist from Malang, brings heartfelt vocals, ukulele, bamboo flute, and percussion rooted in jazz and traditional East Javanese music. Ferry, originally from rural East Java, adds emotional depth with his dreamlike piano and lush synth work, shaped by years of travel through Southeast and Central Asia, and the Middle East. Together, they create an ethereal, soul-infused soundscape where modern beats meet ancestral echoes, telling stories in both English and Indonesian.
Both Abink and Ferry often play at the Yoga Barn and have played at the Balispirit Festival many times over the years, they are part of the festival family and we are so glad to have them back.
This year they will be collaborating with Tomboan, a contemporary Karawitan group from Malang, East Java.
