Kumar Sublevao-Beat aka Afrosideral is a Cuban multi-instrumentalist, rapper & music producer based in Europe. His versatility moves between Hiphop, Jazz, World Music and Electronica, all under the mantle of Afro-Cuban music. With a dynamic, mystical and elegant staging, he moves from Dowmtempo to the most danceable without losing his authenticity as a classically trained Cuban musician.

2026 will be Kumar’s second year at the Balispirit Festival, where he will perform on the Grove Stage and also offer workshops.

This year, Kumar is bringing the Afrosideral Band, a project that fuses traditional Cuban, Afro-Cuban & Brazilian folklore with live electronic music.

Kumar’s music is a tool for self-exploration, an ecstatic sonic journey that draws us into dance. It evokes ancient ceremonies that celebrate life, pay tribute to nature, and elevate the vibration through songs to the Orishas.

His live performance is magnetic, and mystical, and radiates a powerful, highly contagious energy, accompanied by percussion, ethnic instruments, and the potent rhythm of electronic music.
