Brent J. Wexler
Embodied Human - Self Care
We humans are at a turning point in our evolution, with technology not only rapidly changing, but with that very same technology also rapidly changing us! In this techno-saturated world, how do we integrate the abundance of body-mind-spirit practices into our daily lives no matter where, no matter when, no matter what?
Brent is wildly passionate about body awareness and self-care. In 2010, despite more than 20 years of diligently practicing Yoga, he made the difficult decision to undergo surgery on his neck to treat an injury he suffered while doing construction. Harnessing his own path of healing from chronic pain, Brent supports others as we increase our awareness and become more present in our bodies throughout daily life.
Inspired by a wide variety of teachers, from Balinese rice farmers to Stanford professors, Thich Nhat Hanh to Constantine Darling, Brent draws upon the influence of humans world-wide to inform the techniques and practices he shares with you in order to navigate stress and cultivate health in an ever-changing world. A self-proclaimed Renaissance man, Brent has a highly diverse background based in martial/ movement arts, language acquisition, yoga, bodywork and building.
Brent will offer a playshop at the Festival on: The Embodied Human in the Digital Era–Making the Mundane Meaningful.
