“… we all return to a point of love in this raw journey called life”- Chocolako

Vibrant, soul-stirring, colorful and passionate, with an infectious smile that reaches back to Nigeria, Chocolako (Choc to her friends) brings her unique gifts to your practice of yoga & meditation.

Yoga with Choc is grounded in the integration of love, awareness and trust. No two classes are ever the same because You are different each time you step on the mat. But don’t be surprised if you laugh, release and even wiggle with your giggle when you practice with this extraordinary teacher.

Choc’s Nigerian heritage revealed the benefits of healing through prayer and the power of linking to elders in the ancestral world. Her quest to understand energy, balance and her “HEALher” capabilities led Chocolako to a professional career in public health. As a hospital administrator Choc worked in the critical care division that brought her face to face with trauma, forgiveness and death.

Life is a raw journey. In 2003 the sudden death of her best friend’s mother compelled Choc to seek a deeper meaning to life. She discovered yoga and dedicated her self to the study of Hatha, Asthanga, Iyengar and Vinyasa Flow. She subsequently graduated as a yoga teacher after 500 hours with Les Leventhal. She now leadsretreats and workshops combining yoga, journaling, nutrition, and fun excursions.

In addition to teaching Yoga, Choc holds an MBA from Cass Business School in London, an MPH from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Human & Organizational Development from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. She is registered with the Yoga Alliance with E-RYT200, RYT 500 and YACEP designations.

Merging her African heritage, her love of yoga and her care for the human spirit, Choc and friends create a unique offering for the Bali Spirit Festival. Her first year presenting at BaliSpirit Festival, Choc and friends will combine “Anke Dje” drumming, yoga and meditation to support the elevation of peace, love and attunement.

Anke Dje translates as “everyone gather together in peace”.
