About Lawrence Jay
With two decades of experience teaching yoga internationally, Lawrence Jay (LJ) is a certified Anusara teacher and a pioneer in blending traditional yoga with modern somatic practices. His approach integrates movement, breath, and deep internal awareness to create a space where the body can unwind, release, and heal.
LJ’s somatic work is informed by his extensive background in yoga, craniosacral therapy, fascia research, and nervous system regulation. His teachings explore how the body naturally moves toward healing when it reaches a state of deep safety—not just consciously, but in the subconscious layers where tension, protection, and trauma are stored.
Through his work, LJ helps students reconnect with their innate sense of self-trust and embodiment by guiding them through movement patterns, breath practices, and awareness techniques that encourage nervous system regulation, emotional integration, and energetic release. His understanding of Internal Family Systems (IFS) adds a profound layer to his somatic approach, allowing participants to engage with the parts of themselves—physical, psychological, emotional, or kinesthetic—that may still be holding onto protective mechanisms.
LJ believes that movement is more than physical—it is a gateway to healing, creativity, and transformation. His classes are an invitation to explore the intelligence of the body, move beyond limitations, and cultivate a deep, embodied connection to self.
