About Matangi

The unique alchemy of the all female drumming band Matangi combines earthy rhythms with ethereal voices. From ancient mantras to original compositions, the five Bali based women find artistic expression through the richness of their multi-cultural backgrounds. Their spirited ethnic stylings, polyphonic singing and empowering drum beats creates a sound that is truly feminine: powerful, mesmerizing and wild all at once.
