About Mestre Cabello Caobijubá

Renowned Master of Capoeira Angola and passionate advocate for Afro-Brazilian culture. Born in Brazil, and living in Bahia for 21 Years, Mestre Cabello has dedicated his life to preserving and promoting the rhythms, instruments, songs, and dances of this rich tradition.

With over 40 years of experience, he has studied under legendary masters, including a long-time student of the iconic Mestre João Grande. Mestre Cabello is also a skilled percussionist and craftsman, creating traditional instruments like caxixis, berimbaus, and agogôs.

Since 1990, he has traveled the world, sharing Capoeira Angola and Brazilian music with diverse cultures. His mission is to spread the richness of Afro-Brazilian culture across the globe.

In 2003, Mestre Cabello co-founded the OuroVerde Cultural Farm in southern Bahia, Brazil, and Barracão D’Angola a center for the creation, presentation, and preservation of Brazilian culture, promoting public appreciation for capoeira, dance, and music while valuing environmental preservation and sustainable development.
