Odissi Dance

Pravat Kumar Swain, a young Odissi dancer, choreographer, and teacher who entered the arena of Dance as a Gotipua Dancer from the Chandrasekhar Gotipua Kala Sansada, Dimirisena but later he immersed himself into the intricate art of Odissi under the guidance of Padmashree Guru Smt Aruna Mohanty from the Orissa Dance Academy, Bhubaneswar. His dedication and hard work have always been reflected in his performances and choreographies. Undoubtedly it is a matter of pride for his land and to the fraternity of Odissi that Pravat Kumar Swain is one of the recipients of the prestigious Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar. He received the honor for the year 2020 in the field of Odissi Dance on 15th February 2023 by the Sangeet Natak Akademi, Govt of India at the Meghdoot Theatre, Rabindra Bhawan, New Delhi.
