About Shalman

Shalman is a multidimensional artist who has been influenced by an incredible spectrum of life and travel experiences, journeys both in the form and formless. Brought up with Indonesian and Syrian roots in forward-thinking Northern California, he has traveled all over the world to experience the medicine of music and dance – from the jungles of Peru to the deserts of Morocco to the warehouses of Berlin and all over in between.

His personal dancefloor downloads have inspired him to curate deep musical journeys that elevate and activate the senses and body, allowing permission for dancers to journey to their truths within. He blends a groovy sonic alchemy including ethnic downtempo, soulful afro house, and all sorts of rhythmic beats in between. Expect a percussion-heavy, vocal-heavy, and energy-heavy journey. His signature sound is uplifting, spiritual, mystical, tribal, and deep. With every DJ set, which is a ceremony in itself, he invites you to dance to the soundtrack of your own medicine — your own life.
