The BaliSpirit Festival Blog Series – #4 Creating Your New Reality

There is so much that makes the BaliSpirit Festival special, soulful and spectacular. In this series of blog articles, I am excited to explore the many facets of it, taking you along on my personal experience of it. The intention is to keep the Bali spirit alive, long after you have left the festival grounds. And for those of you who weren’t here (yet) I am hoping that this text spreads the spirit to you as well, giving you an impression of this fascinating festival.

This is the fourth article of the BaliSpirit Festival blog series. Since so many of the sessions were about manifesting your vision and dreams, in this post I share some of the transformational tips and teachings on this topic.

#4 Creating Your New Reality

The BaliSpirit Festival Blog Series - 4 Creating Your New Reality - Believe in you

The weekend was about to begin, which meant, the last two days of the BaliSpirit Festival. No need or time to feel sad though, there was again an abundance of possibilities on the program.

The day started with a workshop which I thought it was the sequel to another workshop I enjoyed, but it turned out to be the same one, and so I decided to sneak out and let (Bali) spirit show the way to an alternative. That’s how I ended up at Tah Riq’s workshop on Reality Creationeering on how to:

“Manifest your outer life from your
thoughts, feelings, energy, imagination and habits” ~Tah Riq

The workshop gave some great insights in a refreshing way. For instance, Tah Riq showed a short video where we had to count the number of passes made by a basketball team. If you have a minute, I really recommend watching it, I’ll let you know why afterwards.

So… did you spot the moonwalking bear? Respect if you did! It goes to show how we are trained to look at reality in a certain way. Tah Riq reminded us of how as humans we are naturally negative. Based on our long-ago past when we had to be on the lookout for dangerous bears and berries, we had to avoid the worst. Meanwhile, times have changed but many of our beliefs have remained the same.

The BaliSpirit Festival Blog Series - 4 Creating Your New Reality - Change Your Channel

Changing Your Channel

Once we change our thoughts and beliefs, we start changing our reality. It’s about what we prime our brain with, as Tah Riq says, and gives another example. We can see manifestation in the same way as Netflix. All channels are there, but we choose which one we tune into. Once we choose a channel, just like Netflix, life will serve us more of those. It might look like this perfectly put example from one of Tah Riq’s slides:

Because you watched: Childhood Abandonment
You might also enjoy: Getting Rejected, Again

Anyone recognize? It can be confronting, but also empowering to realize how our beliefs have shaped our reality for so many years. Because when we do, it places the remote control of our lives back into our hands. The BaliSpirit Festival Blog Series - 4 Creating Your New Reality - Tah Riq

Leaps Of Faith

One way to change the channel is by taking a leap of faith. Leaps of faith are those moments when we take a supersize step out of our comfort zone, whether based on an inkling or an intuitive hit, we have no idea where we will end up (spoiler alert: usually a lot better than before).

It can mean leaving a relationship that isn’t working anymore, buying that ticket or leaving an unsatisfying job, the latter is what Tah Riq did and talks more about in his Tedx Talk ‘Taking a Leap: From Desktop To Rooftop’. A leap of faith shows the universe that you have taken your first step, and are ready for the next, and the universe usually rushes to meet you halfway (that is, if the universe actually rushes, but you get the idea).

Takeaway: There is so much more to share from this talk, as Tah Riq shares known concepts into refreshing reframes. Two more takeaways:

  1. ‘Learn the art of practice and never quit’: the average adult gives up after trying three times, when we continue though, we’ll soon see how much we’re capable of.
  2. ‘The lower the hertz, the more it hurts’: if you see scale of consciousness, you’ll remember/ recognize the importance of aiming for love or above. We can start seeing hurt as a reminder to raise our vibe, more about that later in this article.

Holographic Transformation

The day continued with a workshop called ”Holographic Transformation Technique” by Ilona Selke. Described in the program as a ‘technique aimed at transforming blockages negative emotions or negative beliefs, into positive energy that starts working from the internal subconscious level into the outer manifest rooms’

I wish I could write more about this workshop, since it was such a transformational technique, but I am afraid it really needs to be experienced. The technique that Ilona shared, was about the alchemy of uniting two parts of ourselves, such as in this meditation, uniting our future self with our current self, transforming a problem into a present.

“When two parts come into union, magic happens, transformation. The higher frequency envelops the lower, because of a higher understanding”
~Ilona Selke

This message of unification was repeated many times throughout the BaliSpirit Festival. For instance, by Rick Smith at his workshop “Inner Authority and Deep Presence” (see blog article #1), when he gave the beautiful example of putting our hands into namaste/ prayer position. We can view the left hand as our ‘small self’ with our many worries and problems, whereas we can view the right hand as a greater part of ourselves, that lovingly encompasses the left. Brought together, they transform (more about that in article #1).

Ilona shared an example of many years ago, when she first applied the Holographic Transformation Technique. She was in a train on her way to an important appointment, the train was delayed and from a logical point of view, she would have been late. But she used the technique, and when she arrived at the train station, the person with whom she had the appointment had just arrived and pointed towards the clock, saying that she was actually early!

It’s a powerful technique and as synchronicity has it, just yesterday Ilona sent out a newsletter with a link to the recording of the exact workshop she gave at the BaliSpirit Festival, including the meditation that she shared. And as a special for the BaliSpirit tribe (=you reading this, even if you didn’t make it this year) Ilona is offering this recording for free, if you visit this page and enter the discount code “Shambala”.

Takeaway: Especially in the Western world, we are so used to avoiding our pain and problems in the most creative and consumeristic ways. What we often forget though, is that pain can be a portal to insight and inspiration, igniting us into a new way of seeing situations and living life. Or as Ilona beautifully put it:

“The old is your stepping stone into the new” ~Ilona Selke

Becoming a Conscious Creator of Your Reality

As I mentioned in earlier blog posts, I had let (Bali) spirit lead me throughout the festival, instead of my logical thinking mind, spirit is much smarter anyways, it has the whole overview after all. This was confirmed again as I look back on the last weekend of the BaliSpirit Festival. The theme of most workshops that I went to was all about creating your reality. Of course, it made sense. The first part of the festival for me was about moving and shaking off the old, the middle part was about igniting insights, inspirations, imagination, and so of course the last part had to be about bringing it all the inspiration into manifestation.

The BaliSpirit Festival Blog Series - 4 Creating Your New Reality - Layla el Kadhri workshop

One of those workshops in the last weekend, was led by Layla El Khadri from Spain. She shared about four ways to go through life, that were so insightful. Just a short overview.

We can go through life, saying that everything is happening:

  1. To Me – which is the victim mindset, avoiding responsibility
  2. By Me – which is when we do take responsibility but make things happen through a lot of work and we end up exhausted
  3. Through Me – this is the path of the lightworker where we shine and let the light beam through us
  4. As Me – this is when we transcend ego identification, we tap into what the collective needs and become one with everyone that is there to create an experience beyond measure (e.g. the sudden superpower of a mother who lifts the car to free her child)

Layla went on to explain that in order to grow through these types of consciousness, we need to activate all our 4 bodies, the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual.

Takeaway: many of us tend to focus on one area when we are working on our growth or manifestation, for the magic to happen, we need to focus on our multidimensional beingness, or as Layla puts it:

“Whenever you want an experience of transformation, bring all bodies to the table”~Layla El Khadri
